Following Department of Health agreement that Oxted and Limpsfield
Hospital should be redeveloped, Surrey and Sussex NHS Trust has
announced that Anvil Healthcare Group has been appointed as preferred
suppliers to take the building of the new hospital and nursing home
forward.
An exhibition showing the plans for the new buildings
will be unveiled in the town in September.
Rob Yeomans, Project Director for the Trust said:
"We are delighted that we now have a building partner for the
work as the current building is in a poor state of repair and has
subsidence. Work is planned to start on the project in October and
we expect that the new hospital buildings will be completed by the
end of 2000. It is an exciting opportunity to provide excellent
health care for people living in the South Tandridge area."
The new purpose built modern facilities will include:
Outpatients
X ray
Therapies
A 60 bed private nursing home with 10 contracted NHS beds
Following completion of the new hospital buildings Anvil Healthcare
Group will develop the Oxted and Limpsfield Hospital site for private
housing.
Anvil Healthcare Group is a 50/50 joint venture between Healthcare
Group Limited and Mount Anvil Limited formed to undertake NHS PFI
community and mental health projects.
